Every spring, search results fill with look-alike ads and paid promotions that make it hard to tell official IRS programs from upsells. We cut through that noise.
What we do
We curate and organize the resources that matter into seven clear categories: CPAs, Enrolled Agents, tax preparation software, free filing programs (IRS Free File, Direct File, VITA, and TCE), small business tax tools, tax resolution and IRS help, and bookkeeping. For each listing we write a plain-language description of who it serves and link directly to the official source.
Our editorial standard
- Real sources only. We list official IRS programs and established, verifiable providers. We do not invent preparer names, addresses, or phone numbers.
- Free programs come first. Millions of taxpayers pay for filing they could have done for free. We surface the no-cost options prominently.
- Credentials matter. When we point you to a preparer directory, it is one where licenses are verifiable — the IRS preparer directory, AICPA, or NAEA.
- No pay-to-rank. Featured placement is labeled. Editorial descriptions are written independently.
